Born in Essex, England Linda has sketched and painted for
most of her life. Her art has been used for the cover of a
magazine, purchased as gifts for government dignitaries and can
be found hanging on the walls of the Alberta legislature
building in Edmonton, Alberta and other business offices around
Alberta. At the same time her art has been purchased and
taken to all parts of the globe. Working in oils, acrylics
and watercolours, Linda's attention to detail is evidenced in
her work.
While being mostly self taught, Linda has taken workshops
with artists such as Maurade Baynton, Willy Wong, Joanne Moore
and others.
Linda was a member of the Strathcona art society for several
years. Her work has been exhibited in many local art shows, and
has been accepted and sold at the Calgary Stampede art auction.
Her paintings of wildlife, landscapes and western scenes
have been well received. She has also done many portraits
and commissioned works. Her paintings have also been
accepted by a prominent West Edmonton Mall art gallery and other
galleries in areas surrounding Edmonton and Calgary. She
had her first one person show in December of 1993, in the Heron
gallery, High Prairie.
In 1998, Linda's painting titled
"Prairie Giants" was juried and won the cover
of the Calgary Stampede's International Stock Guide's
cover. Her work can also be found hanging in
corporate offices around the world. |
